A Baby’s Prayer (#15 Small Talk blog 2018)

 The Importance of a Mother

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, the importance of a mother is a child’s life is highlighted once again. One can never underestimate how much a mom guides and nurtures their little one as they learn about the world around them. For this weeks blog, I thought about how important a mom is to their baby and I came across this wonderful poem which expresses what a baby might say to his mom if he could talk from the minute of his birth!

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and that it will resonate with you as you gaze into your newborn’s eyes and wonder what he or she might be thinking! Without any further ado, here is the prayer of a child:prayer of a baby

Walk along side me, Mama

And hold my little hand.

I have so many things to learn

That I don’t yet understand.

Teach me things to keep me safe

From the dangers everyday

Show me how to do my best

At home, at school, at play.

Every child needs a gentle hand

To guide them as they grow.

So walk alongside me, Mama

We have a long way to go.

Final thought

We should all strive to give our children guidance through the tough moments and love them unconditionally. They should grow up to know that we are always there for them, no matter what. And we should be there beside them as they walk through life, but we should not forget that we must let them fly free when the right moment comes – and they should know that we will always be there to catch them should they fall! We, as adults CAN talk, unlike newborns, and we should never get tired of letting our little ones know how much we care for them and that we always want only the best for them.
